The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 When the souls are sorted out, (being joined, like with like); 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what sin she was killed? 9 when the scrolls shall be unrolled, 10 When the world on High is unveiled; 11 and when the blazing fire [of hell] is kindled bright, 12 And when Paradise is brought near. 13 Every soul shall (then) know what it has prepared. 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 that hide, 16 and sit during the day, or by the darkening night 17 and the morn as it breathes. 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 he truly saw him on the clear horizon; 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of a satan accursed. 25 Whither then will you go? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. 29
