And (remember) when your Lord said to Moosa, “Go to the unjust people.” 10 The people of Pharaoh. Will they not fear Allah?" 11 He said, 'My Lord, I fear they will cry me lies, 12 “I feel hesitant, and my tongue does not speak fast, therefore make Haroon also a Noble Messenger.” 13 As for me, they hold the charge of a crime against me. I fear they will put me to death." 14 Allah said: "Nay! Go you both with Our Signs. Verily! We shall be with you, listening. 15 And go, both of you, unto Pharaoh and say, 'Behold, we bear a message from the Sustainer of all the worlds: 16 "'Send thou with us the Children of Israel.'" 17 (Pharaoh) said (unto Moses): Did we not rear thee among us as a child? And thou didst dwell many years of thy life among us, 18 and you did the deed which you did. You are certainly ungrateful." 19 Said he, 'Indeed I did it then, being one of those that stray; 20 So I fled from you when I feared you, then my Lord granted me wisdom and made me of the apostles; 21 Is this then the blessing with which you reproach me, that you have the Children of Israel for worshipers' 22 Pharaoh said: "And what is the 'Lord and Cherisher of the worlds'?" 23 (Moses) said: Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if ye had but sure belief. 24 [Pharaoh] said to those around him, "Do you not hear?" 25 He said, 'Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers, the ancients' 26 [Pharaoh] said, "Indeed, your 'messenger' who has been sent to you is mad." 27 [Moses] said, "Lord of the east and the west and that between them, if you were to reason." 28 Pharaoh said, "If you put forward any god other than me, I will surely put you in prison". 29 (Moses) said: "Even though I have brought to you something convincing?" 30 Pharaoh said: "Then bring it if you are truthful at all." 31 He cast down his staff and thereupon it was a clear serpent. 32 And he drew forth his hand, and lo, it was white to the beholders. 33
