Verily this is a Revelation from the Lord of the Worlds: 192 With it came down the spirit of Faith and Truth- 193 To (communicate) to your heart that you may be a warner 194 In the plain Arabic language. 195 And indeed it is mentioned in the earlier Books. 196 Is it not a token for them that the doctors of the Children of Israel know it? 197 And even if We had revealed it to one among the foreigners 198 And he had recited it unto them, they would not have believed in it. 199 We have thus caused denial of truth to enter into the hearts of the sinners: 200 They will not believe it until they behold the painful punishment. 201 so that it will come upon them suddenly, while they are unaware, 202 They will say, "Can we be granted any respite?" 203 Would they (now) hasten on Our doom? 204 Therefore observe, that if We give them some comforts for some years, – 205 And then what they were promised comes upon them, 206 none of their luxuries will be able to save them from the torment? 207 And withal, never have We destroyed any community unless it had been warned 208 By way of reminder, and We have never been unjust. 209 The devils did not bring it down. 210 they are not supposed to do so. Nor do have they the ability for such a task. 211 Indeed they have been removed far from even (a chance of) hearing it. 212 So call on no other god but God, lest you are condemned to torment; 213 And warn thy tribe of near kindred, 214 And be kind to him who follows you of the believers. 215 And if they disobey you, then say, "Indeed, I am disassociated from what you are doing." 216 Have trust in the Majestic and All-merciful God, 217 Who seeth thee standing forth (in prayer), 218 And your movement among those who prostrate. 219 For it is He Who heareth and knoweth all things. 220 Shall I inform you upon whom do the devils descend? 221 They descend on every great accuser, extreme sinner. (The magicians) 222 who readily lend ear [to every falsehood,] and most of whom lie to others as well. 223 As for poets, the erring follow them. 224 Have you not seen them wandering and bewildered in every valley 225 and preaching what they themselves never practice. 226 Except those who believed and did good deeds, and profusely remembered Allah, and took revenge after they had been wronged*; and soon the unjust will come to know upon which side they will be overturned**. (* The Muslim poets who praise Allah and the Prophet. ** The disbelievers will be punished.) 227
