And whosoever turns away (blinds himself) from the remembrance of the Most Beneficent (Allah) (i.e. this Quran and worship of Allah), We appoint for him Shaitan (Satan - devil) to be a Qarin (an intimate companion) to him. 36 Devils divert men from the [right] way, while they think that they are rightly guided. 37 To the extent that when the disbeliever will be brought to Us, he will say to his devil, “Alas – if only there was the distance* of east and west, between you and me!” – so what an evil companion** he is! (* Had I not listened to you. **They will be bound together in chains.) 38 Because of the harm you did, it would be of no benefit to you today, you are partners in the punishment. 39 What, will you make the deaf hear, or guide the blind and he who is in clear error? 40 Even if We take you away from the world, We shall surely take vengeance on them 41 Or (if) We show thee that wherewith We threaten them; for lo! We have complete command of them. 42 So adhere to that which is revealed to you. Indeed, you are on a straight path. 43 And verily, this (the Quran) is indeed a Reminder for you (O Muhammad SAW) and your people (Quraish people, or your followers), and you will be questioned (about it). 44 And ask those of Our apostles whom We sent before you: Did We ever appoint gods to be worshipped besides the Beneficent Allah? 45
