Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Certainly the news of the calamity that will overwhelm has come to you! 1 On that Day, there shall be downcast faces, 2 Toiling, weary, 3 about to enter a glowing fire, 4 The while they are given, to drink, of a boiling hot spring, 5 There is no food for them except thorns of fire. 6 which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger. 7 [Other] faces, that Day, will show pleasure. 8 Well-pleased with their endeavour, 9 In an elevated garden, 10 where they will hear no idle talk. 11 Wherein is a gushing spring, 12 Therein will be Thrones (of dignity), raised on high, 13 and goblets laid out, 14 And cushions ranged 15 and carpets spread out. 16 Look they not at the camels, how they are created? 17 And at the sky, how it is raised aloft? 18 And the mountains: how they were fixed? 19 how the earth was outstretched? 20 So, [O Prophet] exhort them: your task is only to exhort, 21 You are not over them a controller. 22 But whoever will turn away (from the Truth), 23 God shall chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 To Us is surely their returning; 25 Then verily, for Us will be their reckoning. 26
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
