۞ But We shall say, "Assemble those who did wrong together with their associates and what they worshipped 22 Besides Allah, then lead them to the way to hell. 23 And stop them, for they shall be questioned: 24 What aileth you that ye succour not one another? 25 Nay, but this day they make full submission. 26 And they will approach one another blaming each other. 27 They say: Lo! ye used to come unto us, imposing, (swearing that ye spoke the truth). 28 They will say: nay! ye yourselves were not believers. 29 “And we did not have any control over you; but in fact you yourselves were rebellious.” 30 Now the Word of our Lord hath been fulfilled concerning us. Lo! we are about to taste (the doom). 31 Thus we misled you. Lo! we were (ourselves) astray. 32 On that day they will all share the torment. 33 Thus do We treat the culprits. 34 Verily when it was said unto them: there is no god but Allah, they ever grew stiff-necked. 35 And (they) said: "Are we going to abandon our aliha (gods) for the sake of a mad poet? 36 No, indeed, he has brought the truth, and confirmed the Messengers. 37 Now certainly you shall be tasting the painful chastisement, 38 “And you will not be compensated except for your deeds.” 39 Not so, however, God's true servants: 40 For them there will be a known provision (in Paradise). 41 Fruits; and they will be honored 42 in the Gardens of Bliss. 43 Facing one another on thrones, 44 a cup filled with wine from its springs, will be passed around to them; 45 white and delicious to those who drink it, 46 Neither they will have Ghoul (any kind of hurt, abdominal pain, headache, a sin, etc.) from that, nor will they suffer intoxication therefrom. 47 And with them will be chaste females, restraining their glances (desiring none except their husbands), with wide and beautiful eyes. 48 like closely guarded pearls. 49 So one among them turns to the other, questioning. – 50 A speaker among them will say, "Indeed, I had a companion [on earth] 51 who would say: "Are you among the believers (of the resurrection)? 52 [that] after we have died and become mere dust and bones we shall, forsooth, be brought to judgment?"' 53 Do you want to see him?' " 54 He will look down and see him in hell. 55 He said: "By Allah! You have nearly ruined me. 56 “And were it not for the munificence of my Lord, I too would have been seized and brought forth (captive)!” 57 Are we not then to die 58 except for our first death? Are we not going to be punished? 59 “This is, most certainly, the supreme success.” 60 for which one must strive hard. 61 Is this a better hospitality or the tree of al-Zaqqum? 62 We have made this tree a trial for the wrong-doers. 63 It is a tree that comes forth in the root of Hell; 64 and its fruits are like the heads of devils. 65 The dwellers of hell will eat that fruit and fill-up their bellies. 66 And afterward, lo! thereupon they have a drink of boiling water 67 Then most surely their return shall be to hell. 68 These are the ones who found their fathers steeped in error, 69 and [now] they make haste to follow in their footsteps! 70 And there had already strayed before them most of the former peoples, 71 And certainly We sent among them warners. 72 See how those who were warned met their end! 73 Save the bondmen of Allah sincere. 74
