Noah had called upon Us (earlier). See, how excellent We were in answering him! 75 And We rescued him and his household from the great calamity. 76 and We made his offspring the only survivors. 77 And left for him (a goodly remembrance) among generations to come in later times: 78 Peace and salutation to Nuh among the nations. 79 That is how We reward those who do good. 80 Indeed, he was of Our believing servants. 81 Then We drowned the disbelievers. 82 ۞ And indeed, among his kind was Abraham, 83 He turned to his Lord with a sound heart 84 When he said to his father and his people: "What is this you worship? 85 Is it falsehood [as] gods other than Allah you desire? 86 What do you think of the Lord of the whole Universe?” 87 And he glanced a glance at the stars 88 And he said, "I am indeed sick (at heart)!" 89 But they turned their backs on him and went away. 90 He turned to their gods and said, "Do you not eat? 91 What is wrong with you that you do not speak?" 92 Then he turned upon them, striking them with his right hand, 93 [But] then the others came towards him hurriedly [and accused him of his deed]. 94 Abraham said to them: “Do you worship what you yourselves have carved with your own hands 95 When Allah hath created you and what ye make? 96 They said, “Construct a building (furnace) for him, and then cast him in the blazing fire!” 97 So they contrived a plot against him, but We made them abject. 98 He said: 'I will go to my Lord; He will guide me. 99 Abraham prayed, "Lord, grant me a righteous son". 100 We gave him the good news that he would have a patient, forbearing son. 101 And, when he (his son) was old enough to walk with him, he said: "O my son! I have seen in a dream that I am slaughtering you (offer you in sacrifice to Allah), so look what you think!" He said: "O my father! Do that which you are commanded, Insha' Allah (if Allah will), you shall find me of As-Sabirin (the patient ones, etc.)." 102 Then, when they had both surrendered (to Allah), and he had flung him down upon his face, 103 We called out to him "O Abraham! 104 You have fulfilled the vision." Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 105 that surely was a manifest trial, 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 and left him thus to be remembered among later generations: 108 Peace be with Abraham. 109 That is how We reward those who do good. 110 For he was one of our believing Servants. 111 We gave Abraham the good news of Isaac, a prophet and a righteous man, 112 We blessed him and Ishaque (Isaac), and of their progeny are (some) that do right, and some that plainly wrong themselves. 113
