Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those [winds] sent forth in gusts 1 And by the winds that blow violently, 2 And scatter (things) far and wide; 3 Then separate them one from another, 4 Then spread abroad a Message, 5 to provide excuses for some and to give warnings to others: 6 What is promised will surely come to pass. 7 Then when the stars become dim; 8 when heaven shall be split 9 And when the mountains are made into dust and blown away. 10 and when the Messengers' time is set 11 To which Day has this task been deferred? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Decision? 14 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 15 Did We not destroy many a nation of the earlier times? 16 So shall We make later generations to follow them. 17 As such shall We deal with the sinners. 18 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 19 Have We not created you from a fluid (held) despicable?- 20 And We placed it in a firm lodging 21 For a known extent. 22 Then We facilitated (your birth). How well do We calculate! 23 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 24 Did We not make the earth a receptacle, 25 for the living and the dead? 26 And We placed therein lofty, firmly set mountains and have given you to drink sweet water. 27 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 28 "Go to what you used to deny; 29 Proceed to a shadow rising in three columns: 30 Neither shading nor availing against the flame. 31 The fire will shoot out sparks as big as huge towers 32 and as bright as a herd of yellow camels. 33 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 34 This is a Day they will not speak, 35 nor shall they be permitted to offer excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 37 This is the Day of Decision; We have gathered you and all the earlier men. 38 So if you have any plot to devise against Me, then devise it. 39 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 40
