Al-Aadeyaat
The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the chargers panting, 1 Striking stones with their hooves, sparking fire. 2 And push home the charge in the morning, 3 and leave behind a cloud of dust 4 Then penetrate to the centre of the enemy army. 5 Indeed, the human is ungrateful to his Lord. 6 And indeed, he is to that a witness. 7 And verily in the love of wealth he is vehement, 8 ۞ But does he not know that [on the Last Day,] when all that is in the graves is raised and brought out, 9 and the secrets of the hearts are laid bare (and examined)? 10 On that day their Lord surely knows all about them! 11
True are the words of God the Almighty.
