▼ 15 The Hijjr Valley
Al-Hijjr 3 of 6
We created mankind from clay, molded from mud, 26 And the jinn did We create aforetime of essential fire. 27 And recall what time thy Lord said unto the angels: verily I am about to create a man from ringing clay of loam moulded. 28 and when I have formed him fully and breathed into him of My spirit, fall down before him in prostration! 29 then the angels all prostrated themselves together. 30 But Satan did not; he refused to join those who prostrated themselves. 31 Allah said: O Iblis! what aileth thou that thou art not with the prostrates? 32 He said: I am not one to prostrate myself unto a mortal whom Thou hast created out of potter's clay of black mud altered! 33 Allah said: then get thee forth therefrom; verily thou art one damned. 34 A curse shall be on you till the Day of Recompense' 35 Iblis said: "My Lord! Grant me respite till the Day when they will be resurrected." 36 The Lord said, "Your request is granted 37 till the appointed time. 38 He said: my Lord! because Thou hast led me to err I will surely make things fairseeming unto them on the earth and will surely seduce them all: 39 "Except Your chosen, (guided) slaves among them." 40 Allah said: this is the path leading unto Me straight. 41 over My servants thou shalt have no authority, except those that follow thee, 42 Hell is the promised place for them all. 43 To it are seven gates: for each of those gates is a (special) class (of sinners) assigned. 44
