We rescued the Israelites from the humiliating torment 30 They (had experienced) under the Pharaoh. He was certainly a tyrant, guilty of excess. 31 And certainly We chose them, having knowledge, above the nations. 32 and showed them signs in which there was a clear test. 33 [Now,] behold, these [people] say indeed: 34 "After we die, we shall never be raised to life again. 35 So bring our ancestors back, if you are truthful." 36 Are they better than the people of Tubba' and those who came before them? We destroyed them, because they were guilty of sin. 37 We created not the heavens, the earth, and all between them, merely in (idle) sport: 38 We created them not except for just ends: but most of them do not understand. 39 Indeed, the Day of Judgement is the appointed time for them all - 40 the Day when no friend shall be of the least avail to another, nor shall any be helped, 41 save those to whom God shows mercy. Surely, He is the Mighty, the Merciful One. 42
