The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is sundered. 1 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed; 2 And when the earth has been extended 3 And throws out whatever it contains and is empty, 4 in obedience to the commands of its Lord which are incumbent on it, (the human being will receive due recompense for his deeds). 5 [then,] O man - thou [that] hast, verily, been toiling towards thy Sustainer in painful toil - then shalt thou meet Him! 6 And he who is given his ledger in his right hand 7 He will be judged with an easy account 8 And he will turn to his people, rejoicing! 9 But whoso is given his account behind his back, 10 he shall call for destruction 11 and he will enter the blazing flame. 12 Indeed, he had [once] been among his people in happiness; 13 and surely thought he would never return (to his Lord). 14 This is a fact. Their Lord is Well-Aware of (all that they do). 15 So by oath of the late evening’s light. 16 and by the night and what it enfolds, 17 And [by] the moon when it becomes full 18 Ye shall surely travel from stage to stage. 19 What aileth them, then, that they believe not 20 and when the Koran is recited to them that they do not prostrate! ۩ 21 But on the contrary the Unbelievers reject (it). 22 God is quite aware of what they are storing in their hearts. 23 (Muhammad), tell them that they will all suffer a painful torment 24 Except those who believed and did good deeds – for them is a reward that will never end. 25
