Al-Saaffaat 4 of 5
Verily We bestowed Our favours on Moses and Aaron 114 and We delivered them and their people from the great distress. 115 And We succoured them so that they became overcomers. 116 And We gave them the Book which helps to make things clear; 117 And guided them to the Straight Path. 118 And We left for them [favorable mention] among later generations: 119 Peace be with Moses and Aaron. 120 Thus indeed do We reward those who do right. 121 They were among Our believing worshipers. 122 And verily, llyas was one of the sent ones. 123 When he said to his people, “Do you not fear?” 124 Do you call on Baal and abandon the Best of Creators, 125 "Allah, your Lord and Cherisher and the Lord and Cherisher of your fathers of old?" 126 But they gave him the lie: and therefore they will most surely be arraigned [on Judgment Day,] 127 except for God's sincere servants; 128 And we left for him among the later folk (the salutation): 129 "Peace be upon Elijah and his followers!" 130 Verily, thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers, who perform good deeds totally for Allah's sake only - see V. 2:112). 131 He is indeed one of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen. 132 And indeed, Lot was among the messengers. 133 Wherefore We saved him and his entire family 134 Except an old woman who was one of those who stayed behind. 135 Then We destroyed the others. 136 And indeed, you pass by them in the morning 137 Or at night. Then how is it you do not understand? 138

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
