The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers. 1 those who, in their Prayers, humble themselves; 2 who turn away from idle talk; 3 Who strive for betterment; 4 who strictly guard their private parts 5 Except from their wives or (the captives and slaves) that their right hands possess, for then, they are free from blame; 6 But whoso craveth beyond that, such are transgressors - 7 Those who are faithfully true to their Amanat (all the duties which Allah has ordained, honesty, moral responsibility and trusts etc.) and to their covenants; 8 and who guard their Prayers. 9 These are they who are the heirs, 10 Who will inherit Paradise: they will dwell therein (for ever). 11 We created man out of the extract of clay, 12 Then placed him as a drop (of seed) in a safe lodging; 13 Then We made the sperm-drop into a clinging clot, and We made the clot into a lump [of flesh], and We made [from] the lump, bones, and We covered the bones with flesh; then We developed him into another creation. So blessed is Allah, the best of creators. 14 And then, behold! after all this, you are destined to die; 15 Then verily on the Day of Judgment ye shall be raised up. 16 And We have created above you seven paths, and We are never unmindful of creation. 17 And We sent down from the sky water (rain) in (due) measure, and We gave it lodging in the earth, and verily, We are Able to take it away. 18 With it, We produced for you gardens of palms and vines, yielding abundant fruit for you to eat. 19 and a tree issuing from the Mount of Sinai that bears oil and seasoning for all to eat. 20 In the cattle, too, is a lesson for you. We let you drink of that which is in their bellies, and there are many benefits in them for you, and you eat of them, 21 and upon them and on the ships you are carried. 22
