Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Hast thou received the story of the Enveloper? 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated (in the Hell-fire, i.e. the faces of all disbelievers, Jews and Christians, etc.). 2 Labouring (hard), weary,- 3 they shall burn in a Scorching Fire; 4 Made to drink from a boiling spring. 5 No food shall be theirs save bitter thorn, 6 which neither sustains, nor satisfy hunger. 7 (Other) faces on that day shall be happy, 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 In an elevated garden, 10 In which they will not hear any lewd speech. 11 with a flowing spring, 12 Within it are couches raised high 13 And cups put in place 14 and arranged cushions 15 And rich carpets spread. 16 Have they not looked at how the camel is created, 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And the mountains, how they are firmly fixed, 19 And at the Earth, how it is spread out? 20 Therefore do thou give admonition, for thou art one to admonish. 21 and are not invested with the authority to compel them. 22 But he who turns his back, and disbelieves, 23 So Allah will mete out to him the greatest punishment. 24 Indeed only towards Us is their return 25 Then verily, for Us will be their reckoning. 26
