And Noah verily prayed unto Us, and gracious was the Hearer of his prayer 75 And We delivered him and his people from the great affliction. 76 and made his offspring the only ones to survive, 77 And We perpetuated to him (praise) among the later generations. 78 Peace be upon Noah among all the peoples! 79 This is how We reward the virtuous. 80 Lo! he is one of Our believing slaves. 81 Thereafter We caused the others to be drowned. 82 ۞ Of his party was also Abraham; 83 When he came to his Lord with a free heart, 84 and said to his father and his people: “Whom do you worship? 85 Do you want to worship false idols as your lords besides God? 86 What is then your idea about the Lord of the worlds? 87 He cast a glance at the stars 88 and he said, 'Surely I am sick.' 89 so they turned their backs on him and went off. 90 Then he turned towards their gods and said: "Why do you not eat (of these offerings)? 91 What is [wrong] with you that you do not speak?" 92 And he turned upon them a blow with [his] right hand. 93 Then the people came toward him, hastening. 94 He said: "Worship you that which you (yourselves) carve? 95 Whereas Allah hath created you and that which ye make? 96 They said, 'Build him a building, and cast him into the furnace!' 97 They desired to outwit him; so We made them the lower ones. 98 (Abraham) said, "I will go to my Lord who will guide me". 99 Abraham prayed, "Lord, grant me a righteous son". 100 So We gave him good tidings of a forbearing boy. 101 And when he reached the age when he could work with him, he said, "O my son, I have seen in a dream that I am sacrificing you. So tell me what you think of it!" He replied, "O my father, do as you are commanded; and God willing, you will find me steadfast." 102 Then, when they had both surrendered (to Allah), and he had flung him down upon his face, 103 We called out to him, "Abraham, 104 thou hast confirmed the vision; even so We recompense the good-doers. 105 that surely was a manifest trial, 106 And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice (i.e. a ram); 107 And We left for him among the posterity: 108 "Peace be upon Abraham!" 109 That is how We reward those who do good. 110 He is truly among Our faithful creatures. 111 And We gave him good tidings of Isaac, a prophet from among the righteous. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. Among their descendants are some who do good, but some who wrong themselves. 113
