The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the Terror descends 1 there is no denying its coming 2 abasing [some,] exalting [others]! 3 When the earth is violently shaken 4 and the mountains will crumble 5 becoming scattered dust, 6 And ye will be three kinds: 7 Those on the right hand; how happy shall those on the right hand be! 8 Companions of the Left (O Companions of the Left!) 9 The third to the fore shall be the foremost. 10 Those! they shall be the brought nigh, 11 They are in Gardens of peace. 12 A throng of the ancients, 13 and a few from later times. 14 upon close-wrought couches 15 reclining upon them, facing one another [in love]. 16 they will be waited on by ageless youths 17 With vessels, pitchers and a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring - 18 Wherefrom they will get neither any aching of the head, nor any intoxication. 19 And with fruit from that which they choose. 20 and the meat of any bird that they may desire; 21 And (there are) fair ones with wide, lovely eyes, 22 Like pearls within their shells, 23 As reward for what they used to do. 24 There hear they no vain speaking nor recrimination 25 All talk will be sound and upright. 26 And those on the Right Hand, Who will be those on the Right Hand? 27 They will live amid the thornless lot trees 28 and acacias flower-clad, 29 And spreading shade, 30 Gushing water, 31 And fruit in abundance. 32 Neither limited [to season] nor forbidden, 33 and raised couches 34 Indeed, We have produced the women of Paradise in a [new] creation 35 and made them virgins, 36 loving and of equal age. 37 All this will be for the People on the Right; 38
