The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 And when the mountains are made to pass away, 3 The ten-month pregnant female camels are abandoned, 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 And when the seas rise, 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 for what sin she was slain, 9 when the scrolls shall be unrolled, 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 And when the Scorch shall be made to blaze, 12 And when Paradise is brought near, 13 [on that Day] every human being will come to know what he has prepared [for himself]. 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 The stars which rise and set, 16 by the night when it approaches 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 Owner of strength, of established dignity with the Lord of the Throne. 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 he truly beheld him [the angel] on the clear horizon. 23 And this Prophet is not miserly upon the hidden. (Allah gave the knowledge of the hidden to the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.) 24 Nor is it the word of a satan accursed. 25 So where are you going? 26 It is naught but a Reminder unto all beings, 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Sustainer of all the worlds, wills [to show you that way]. 29

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
