Most Auspicious is He Who created lofty towers in the sky and placed a lamp in it, and the luminous moon. 61 And He it is Who made the night and the day to follow each other for him who desires to be mindful or desires to be thankful. 62 For, [true] servants of the Most Gracious are [only] they who walk gently on earth, and who, whenever the foolish address them, reply with [words of] peace; 63 who pass the night prostrate to their Lord and standing; 64 Those who say, "Our Lord! avert from us the Wrath of Hell, for its Wrath is indeed an affliction grievous,- 65 it is an evil settling, and an evil residence' 66 And those who when they expend, are neither extravagant nor sparing, and it is a medium in-between. 67 who do not call upon another god with Allah, nor slay the soul which Allah has forbidden except by right; who do not fornicate, for he who does this shall face punishment 68 The torment will be doubled to him on the Day of Resurrection, and he will abide therein in disgrace; 69 Excepted, however, shall be they who repent and attain to faith and do righteous deeds: for it is they whose [erstwhile] bad deeds God will transform into good ones - seeing that God is indeed much-forgiving, a dispenser of grace, 70 He who repents and does good deeds has truly turned to God. 71 and those who do not bear false witness, and when they pass by idle talk, pass by with honor 72 And those who, when they are admonished by the commands of Allah, fall not down thereat, deaf and blind. 73 who say, "Lord, grant us joy in our wives and children and make us a model for the righteous." 74 These shall be rewarded with high places because they were patient, and shall be met therein with greetings and salutations. 75 Dwelling therein;- how beautiful an abode and place of rest! 76 Say, "What would my Lord care for you if not for your supplication?" For you [disbelievers] have denied, so your denial is going to be adherent. 77
