The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is folded up, 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 the mountains are scattered about as dust, 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 when the souls are divided into different classes, 7 And when the girl-child that was buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed, 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 And when the sky is torn away, 11 And when the hell is kindled up, 12 when Paradise is brought close: 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 by the night when it approaches 17 And the Dawn as it breathes away the darkness;- 18 This is indeed the recitation of an honoured Noble Messenger. (Angel Jibreel – peace and blessings be upon him.) 19 Owner of strength, of established dignity with the Lord of the Throne. 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 And your companion is not gone mad. 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 he is not niggardly of the Unseen. 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 where then are you going? 26 That is but an advice to the entire creation! 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
