Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When the heaven is cleft asunder, 1 And the stars dispersed, 2 When the seas are poured forth, 3 And when the graves are overturned. 4 A soul will know what it hath sent before (it) and what left behind. 5 O Man! What deceived thee as to thy generous Lord 6 Who created you, proportioned you, and balanced you? 7 Shaping you into any form He pleased? 8 No indeed; (the fact is that) you deny the Reckoning, declaring it a lie; 9 And yet, verily, there are ever-watchful forces over you, 10 noble, writers 11 and these honorable scribes know whatever you do. 12 Surely the pious shall be in bliss, 13 and the evil-doers will be in hell 14 They will burn therein on the Day of Judgment, 15 and from which they will find no escape. 16 They will never be able to escape from it. Would that you knew what the Day of Judgment is! 17 And once again: What could make thee conceive what that Judgment Day will be? 18 It is the day when no soul will have power to do the least for a soul, and God's alone will be done. 19
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
