And assuredly We have created human being from ringing clay of loam moulded. 26 and the jinn We had created before from flaming fire. 27 And lo! Thy Sustainer said unto the angels: "Behold, I am about to create mortal man out of sounding clay, out of dark slime transmuted; 28 So when I have made him complete and breathed into him of My spirit, fall down making obeisance to him. 29 So the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together: 30 except Iblis who refused to join with the others in prostration. 31 "How is it, O Iblis," said (the Lord), "you did not join those who bowed in homage?" 32 He replied, "I am not one to prostrate myself to a man whom You have created out of a clay of moulded mud." 33 (Allah) said: "Then get thee out from here; for thou art rejected, accursed. 34 “And indeed you are accursed till the Day of Judgement.” 35 He said: my Lord! respite me then till the Day whereon they will be raised up. 36 Said Allah, “You are of those given respite.” 37 till the appointed time. 38 [Whereupon Iblis] said: "O my Sustainer! Since Thou hast thwarted me, I shall indeed make [all that is evil] on earth seem goodly to them, and shall most certainly beguile them - into grievous error 39 Except Thy servants from among them, the devoted ones. 40 He said: This is a right course incumbent upon Me: 41 Lo! as for My slaves, thou hast no power over any of them save such of the froward as follow thee, 42 And indeed hell is the promise for all of them. 43 It has seven gates and each gate is assigned for a certain group of people. 44

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
