Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the sky breaks apart 1 And when the stars become dispersed, 2 And when the seas are made to flow forth, 3 And when the graves are laid open, 4 Every soul shall know what it has sent before and held back. 5 O human! What has deceived you concerning your Generous Lord 6 Who created you proportionately and fashioned you 7 In whatsoever form He listed He constructed thee. 8 No indeed; but you cry lies to the Doom; 9 Yet over you there are watchers, 10 noble recorders, 11 who know what you do. 12 The virtuous ones will live in bliss 13 whereas the wicked will be in Hell; 14 Roasted they shall be therein on the Day of Requital. 15 And will not be absent thence. 16 And what do you know – of what sort is the Day of Justice! 17 Again, what do you know what the Day of Recompense is? 18 It is a Day whereon no soul shall own aught of power for any soul; and the command on that Day will be Allah's. 19
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
