Al-Hummazah

The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

Woe to every slanderer, defamer, 1 [Woe unto him who amasses wealth and counts it a safeguard, 2 He thinks that his wealth will make him last forever! 3 Never! He will certainly be thrown into the Crushing One. 4 And what will explain to thee That which Breaks to Pieces? 5 Fire of Allah, Kindled, 6 which shall oversee the hearts, 7 Verily it shall close upon them, 8 In pillars stretched forth (i.e. they will be punished in the Fire with pillars, etc.). 9

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
