The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 And who glide with ease. 3 And those who race each other in a race 4 by the managers (angels) affair. 5 The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively 6 to be followed by further [convulsions]! 7 hearts upon that day shall be athrob 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 (The disbelievers) say, "Shall we be brought back to life again 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 When, behold, they find themselves over the earth alive after their death, 14 Did the news of Moosa reach you? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 Go to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), verily, he has transgressed all bounds (in crimes, sins, polytheism, disbelief, etc.). 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 Then he shewed him the great sign. 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 Saying: "I am your lord, most high", 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
