The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun shall be wound round, 1 when the stars are thrown down, 2 The mountains made to move, 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 And when the seas rise, 6 and when all human beings are coupled [with their deeds,] 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 Upon what sin was she killed for. 9 when the scrolls are unrolled, 10 the heavens are unveiled, 11 When Hell is set ablaze, 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready. 14 Oh, but I call to witness the planets, 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 The closing night, 17 And by the morning when it shineth forth, 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 who is honored in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed there [in the heavens] and trustworthy. 21 And your companion is not gone mad. 22 in truth he saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon, 23 he is not niggardly of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of a stoned satan. 25 So where are you going? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 to every one of you who wishes to tread the straight path. 28 However, you will not be able to choose anything unless God, Lord of the Universe wills it to be so. 29
