Believers, do not devour usury multiplied many times over. Fear God, so that you may prosper, 130 Fear the Fire, which is repaired for those who reject Faith: 131 Obey Allah and the Messenger in order to be subjected to mercy. 132 ۞ And vie with each other in hastening to obtain forgiveness from your Lord and toward the Garden whereof the width equalleth the heavens and the earth, gotten ready for the God-fearing 133 Who expend both in joy and tribulation, who suppress their anger and pardon their fellowmen; and God loves those who are upright and do good, 134 And who, when they have committed an indecency or have wronged their souls, remember God and pray that their sins be forgiven, (for who but God can forgive sins?) and do not knowingly persist in their misdeeds, 135 Those - their reward is forgiveness from their Lord and gardens beneath which rivers flow [in Paradise], wherein they will abide eternally; and excellent is the reward of the [righteous] workers. 136 There are many examples [of the communities] that have passed away before you: travel through the land, and see what was the end of those who rejected the Truth. 137 This is an exposition for mankind, and a guidance, and an admonition for such as are godfearing. 138 Do not be weak, neither sorrow while you are the upper ones, if you are believers. 139 If a wound hath touched you, be sure a similar wound hath touched the others. Such days (of varying fortunes) We give to men and men by turns: that Allah may know those that believe, and that He may take to Himself from your ranks Martyr-witnesses (to Truth). And Allah loveth not those that do wrong. 140 and so that Allah will examine those who believe and efface the unbelievers. 141 Did you think that you would enter Paradise even though Allah has not yet seen who among you strove hard in His way and remained steadfast? 142 You certainly wished to die (for the cause of God) before you actually faced death. Then you faced death (in the battlefield and only a few of you had the true desire to die). 143
