۞ Those who do not hope to meet Us ask: 'Why have no angels been sent to us? Why can we not see our Lord' How proud they are within themselves, and have become greatly disdainful. 21 On the Day when they behold the angels, there will be no glad tidings for the sinners. They will say: 'A refuge which is forbidden' 22 And We shall turn to whatever deeds they did (in this life), and We shall make such deeds as floating dust scattered about. 23 The companions of Paradise, that Day, are [in] a better settlement and better resting place. 24 And (remember) the Day when the heaven shall be rent asunder with clouds, and the angels will be sent down, with a grand descending. 25 The dominion on that Day shall be the true dominion of the Compassionate, and it shall be a day upon the infidels hard. 26 And the day when the unjust will gnaw his hands, saying, “Alas, if only I had chosen a way along with the (Noble) Messenger (of Allah)!” 27 Oh, woe to me! I wish I had not taken that one as a friend. 28 He led me away from the true guidance after it had come to us. Satan is a traitor to people." 29 And the Noble Messenger submitted, “O my Lord – indeed my people took this Qur’an as worthy of being abandoned.” 30 O Muhammad, in this very way We have made the criminals the enemies of every Prophet, but your Lord suffices for you as your Guide and Helper. 31 Now they who are bent on denying the truth are wont to ask. "Why has not the Qur'an been bestowed on him from on high in one single revelation?" [it has been revealed] in this manner so that We might strengthen thy heart thereby - for We have so arranged its component parts that they form one consistent whole 32 And they shall not bring to you any argument, but We have brought to you (one) with truth and best in significance. 33 Those who will be gathered to Hell (prone) on their faces, such will be in an evil state, and most astray from the (Straight) Path. 34
