The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the heaven, and At-Tariq (the night-comer, i.e. the bright star); 1 what do you know what the night-visitor is? 2 The star of piercing brightness; 3 [for] no human being has ever been left unguarded. 4 So let man look - from what is he created. 5 He is created from a water dripping, 6 which comes out of the loins and ribs. 7 Verily He is Able to restore him, 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 and he shall have no strength, no helper. 10 By the heaven which returneth, 11 And the earth splitting (with plants); 12 the Quran is the final word, 13 It is not a thing for amusement. 14 They are hatching up a plot, 15 but I shall bring all their scheming to nought. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal you gently with them for a while. 17
