۞ (Then will the command be given): “Muster all the wrong-doers and their spouses and the deities whom they used to serve 22 Other than Allah, and guide them to the path of Hellfire 23 and detain them there; they will be called to account. 24 "How is it that [now] you cannot succour one another?" 25 They will submit to questioning then, 26 And some of them draw near unto others, mutually questioning. 27 They will say: verily ye! ye were wont to come unto us Imposing. 28 They will say, "No! It was you who would not believe -- 29 Moreover, we had no power at all over you: nay, you were people filled with overweening arrogance! 30 “So the Word of our Lord has proved true upon us; we will surely have to taste (the punishment).” 31 So we led you astray; we ourselves were strayed.” 32 So they shall on that day be sharers in the chastisement one with another. 33 As such We shall deal with the evildoers. 34 They were the ones, who on being told, "God is only One," become puffed-up with pride 35 and would say: "Shall we, then, give up our deities at the bidding of a mad poet?" 36 Nay! he (Muhammad SAW) has come with the truth (i.e. Allah's Religion - Islamic Monotheism and this Quran) and he confirms the Messengers (before him who brought Allah's religion - Islamic Monotheism). 37 Verily, you (pagans of Makkah) are going to taste the painful torment; 38 And be rewarded but only for what you had done, 39 Except the chosen creatures of God, 40 For them there will be a known provision (in Paradise). 41 and fruits while they are honored. 42 in gardens of bliss, 43 Facing one another on thrones. 44 Round will be passed to them a Cup from a clear-flowing fountain, 45 White, delicious to the drinkers, 46 Free from headiness; nor will they suffer intoxication therefrom. 47 and with them wide-eyed maidens restraining their glances 48 so delicate as the hidden peel under an egg's shell. 49 Then they will turn to one another, mutually questioning. 50 Said one of the speakers: "I had a friend 51 Who used to say: "Are you among those who believe (in resurrection after death). 52 What! when we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then be certainly brought to judgment? 53 He said: 'Will you look down?' 54 Then looketh he and seeth him in the depth of hell. 55 He will say, "By Allah, you almost ruined me. 56 “And were it not for the munificence of my Lord, I too would have been seized and brought forth (captive)!” 57 Is it then that we are not going to die, 58 Saving our former death, and are we not to be punished? 59 This will indeed be great happiness. 60 For the like of this, then, let the workers work. 61 Is this better as a welcome, or the tree of Zaqqum? 62 We have appointed it as a trial for the evildoers. 63 Surely it is a tree that-grows in the bottom of the hell; 64 Its crop is as it were the heads of devils 65 The dwellers of hell will eat that fruit and fill-up their bellies. 66 Then after it, indeed for them is the drink of boiling hot water. 67 Then to Hell they will surely be returned. 68 for, behold, they found their forebears on a wrong way, 69 and rushed to follow them. 70 Most of the ancient people had also gone astray. 71 And We had sent admonishers to them. 72 Then look how was the end of those who were warned - 73 except for the chosen servants of Allah? 74
