Animals (Al-An 'aam)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Only God Who has created the heavens, the earth, darkness, and light deserves all praise. The disbelievers consider other things equal to Him. 1 He it is Who hath created you from clay, and hath decreed a term for you. A term is fixed with Him. Yet still ye doubt! 2 He is God of the heavens and the earth and He knows whatever you conceal, reveal, or gain. 3 Yet no sign of their Lord comes to them but they turn away from it. 4 Surely they have belied the truth when it came unto them; so presently there cometh unto them the tidings of that whereat they have been mocking. 5 See they not how many of those before them We did destroy?- generations We had established on the earth, in strength such as We have not given to you - for whom We poured out rain from the skies in abundance, and gave (fertile) streams flowing beneath their (feet): yet for their sins We destroyed them, and raised in their wake fresh generations (to succeed them). 6 Had We sent down on thee a Book on parchment and so they touched it with their hands, yet the unbelievers would have said, 'This is naught but manifest sorcery.' 7 And they say, "Why was there not sent down to him an angel?" But if We had sent down an angel, the matter would have been decided; then they would not be reprieved. 8 Had we appointed him (Our messenger) an angel, We assuredly had made him (as) a man (that he might speak to men); and (thus) obscured for them (the truth) they (now) obscure. 9 And assuredly mocked were the apostles before thee, wherefore that whereat they scoffed beset these who had been mocking. 10
