It is He who sends down rain from the sky; from it is drink and from it is foliage in which you pasture [animals]. 10 With it He causes to grow for you the crops, the olives, the date-palms, the grapes, and every kind of fruit. Verily! In this is indeed an evident proof and a manifest sign for people who give thought. 11 He has subjected for you the night and the day and the sun and the moon and the stars have also been made subservient by His command. Surely there are Signs in this for those who use their reason. 12 All that He has created for you on the earth are of different colors. In this there is evidence of the Truth for the people who take heed. 13 It is He who subjected to you the sea, so that you may eat its fresh seafood and bring forth from it ornaments to wear. You see the ships cleaving through it. All this, so that you may seek His bounty and feel grateful. 14 And He has set up on the earth mountains standing firm, lest it should shake with you; and rivers and roads; that ye may guide yourselves; 15 And also landmarks; and by the stars they are guided. 16 Is He who creates as he who does not create? Will you not remember? 17 If ye would count up the favours of Allah, never would ye be able to number them: for Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. 18 And Allah knows what you conceal and what you do openly. 19 And those whom they worship other than Allah, do not create anything but are themselves created. 20 Dead are they, not alive; and they perceive not when they will be raised up. 21
