Alshu'araa' 10 of 11
The Companions of the Wood rejected the messengers. 176 When Shu'aib (Shuaib) said to them: "Will you not fear Allah (and obey Him)? 177 "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust. 178 “Therefore fear Allah and obey me.” 179 And I ask of you no wage for it; my wage is the concern only of the Lord of the Worlds. 180 ۞ “Measure in full, and do not be of those who reduce.” 181 "And weigh with scales true and upright. 182 do not defraud people of what is rightfully theirs; and do not spread corruption in the land. 183 and have fear of Him Who created you and the earlier generations." 184 They said: thou art but of the bewitched; 185 You are nothing but a man like us, and we think you are a liar. 186 Drop down on us lumps from heaven, if you are one of the truthful' 187 He said: 'My Lord knows what you are doing' 188 But they denied him, and We seized them with the torment of the Day of Shadowing (when the cloud had rained down fire). It was indeed the torment of a terrible day! 189 Lo! herein is indeed a portent; yet most of them are not believers. 190 Your Lord, He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 191
