We saved the Children of Israel from their humiliating torment 30 at the hands of Pharaoh: he was a tyrant who exceeded all bounds. 31 And We certainly chose them by knowledge over [all] the worlds. 32 and showed them signs in which there was a clear test. 33 Yet those who deny the truth say, 34 “This is our first and only death, and we shall never be raised again. 35 “Therefore bring back our forefathers, if you are truthful!” 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba' and those before them? We destroyed them, [for] indeed, they were criminals. 37 It was not in idle sport that We created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them. 38 We created them in nothing else except the truth. But most do not know. 39 The appointed time for all of them will be the Day of Judgment 40 the day a master shall avail nothing a client, and they shall not be helped, 41 Except those [believers] on whom Allah has mercy. Indeed, He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 42
