The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the night when it covers the day, 1 and the day in splendour 2 and That which created the male and the female, 3 Verily your endeavour is diverse. 4 Yet he who gives to others and has fear, 5 And believeth in goodness; 6 Unto him therefore We shall indeed make easy the path to ease. 7 But for those who are niggardly, horde their wealth, 8 And disbelieveth in goodness; 9 We shall facilitate the path to affliction 10 And what will his wealth benefit him when he goes down (in destruction). 11 Surely Ours is it to show the way, 12 And lo! unto Us belong the latter portion and the former. 13 Therefore I have warned you of a Fire blazing fiercely (Hell); 14 in which no one will suffer forever except the wicked ones 15 who denied [the truth], and turned away. 16 But the God-fearing shall be kept away from it, 17 who spend for the cause of God and purify themselves. 18 And no one has with him any boon for which he should be rewarded, 19 only seeking the Face of his Lord the Most High; 20 He will surely be well-pleased (with him). 21
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
