HAST THOU, then, ever considered him who turns away [from remembering Us, and cares for no more than the life of this world,] 33 and gives a little, and then grudgingly? 34 Is with him knowledge of the unseen so that he seeth? 35 Hath he not been told of that which is in the writs of Musa. 36 And Abraham who paid his debt: 37 Certainly no one will bear the responsibility of the sins of another, 38 nor can man achieve anything without hard labor. 39 and that his labouring shall surely be seen, 40 Thereafter he shall be recompensed therefor with the fullest recompense. 41 That to thy Lord is the final Goal; 42 And that He it is Who makes (men) laugh and makes (them) weep; 43 and that it is He alone who deals death and grants life; 44 And that He creates the two mates - the male and female - 45 From a drop of liquid, when it is added? 46 and that [therefore] it is within His power to bring about a second life; 47 And that He it is Who enriches and gives to hold; 48 And that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius 49 And that He destroyed the former (tribe of) A'ad, 50 And Samood, so He spared not 51 And before them, the people of Noah, for that they were (all) most unjust and most insolent transgressors, 52 And He brought perdition upon the subverted cities 53 So that they were covered over by what they were covered over. 54 Then which of the favors of your Lord do you doubt? 55 This is a warner, of the warners of old. 56 The Hour that was to come draws ever nearer. 57 apart from God none can disclose it. 58 Marvel ye then at this statement, 59 And keep laughing and do not weep, 60 while you are thoughtless? 61 Prostrate yourselves before Allah, and serve Him. ۩ 62
True are the words of God the Almighty.
