Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 and nay, I swear by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Surely yes, why not? We can properly make all his phalanxes. 4 But man desires to persist in his evil ways. 5 asking [derisively,] "When is that Resurrection Day to be?" 6 At length, when the sight is dazed, 7 And the moon will be eclipsed. 8 And the sun and moon are conjoined, 9 On that Day man will say: "Where (is the refuge) to flee?" 10 But nay: no refuge [for thee, O man]! 11 With your Lord alone shall on that day be the place of rest. 12 Then man will be told what he had sent ahead (of good) and what he had left behind. 13 Aye! man against himself shall be an enlightenment. 14 even though he offer his excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it (the Revelation) to hasten it. 16 It is for Us to collect it and to give you (O Muhammad SAW) the ability to recite it (the Quran), 17 So, as We recite it, follow its reading. 18 then it will be for Us to explain it. 19 Nay, (ye men!) but ye love the fleeting life, 20 and leave be the Hereafter. 21 Some faces that Day shall be Nadirah (shining and radiant). 22 gazing towards their Lord. 23 and some faces on that Day will be gloomy, 24 dreading some great affliction. 25 Nay! When it comes up to the throat, 26 And it is asked: "Is there any reciter of charms and amulets?" 27 And he (the dying person) will conclude that it was (the time) of departing (death); 28 And one shin will curl up with the other shin. 29 that will be the time to be driven to one's Lord. 30
