The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
When the sun shall be wound round, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 And when the hills are moved, 3 when ten-month pregnant camels are left untended, 4 when the savage beasts shall be brought together, 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 and when all human beings are coupled [with their deeds,] 7 And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked. 8 For what sin she was killed? 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 And when the sky is torn away, 11 and when the blazing fire [of hell] is kindled bright, 12 And when the garden is brought nigh, 13 then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 The stars which rise and set, 16 And the Night as it dissipates; 17 And by the morning when it shineth forth, 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. (Other angels obey angel Jibreel). 21 Your companion (Muhammad) does not suffer from any mental illness 22 And of a truth he saw himself on the clear horizon. 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 Nor is this [message] the word of any satanic force accursed. 25 So where are you going? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
