Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
HAS THERE COME unto thee the tiding of the Overshadowing Event? 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated, 2 labouring, toilworn, 3 Entering into burning fire, 4 Given to drink of a spring fiercely boiling. 5 They will have no food except bitter thorn, 6 Neither nourishing nor banishing hunger. 7 Faces on that Day shall be delighted, 8 well-pleased with their striving. 9 In a Garden on high, 10 hearing there no babble; 11 Therein is a fountain flowing, 12 Therein will be thrones raised high, 13 And goblets ready placed! 14 cushions ranged, 15 and carpets outspread. 16 Have they not looked at how the camel is created, 17 and on the sky, how it is raised aloft, 18 how the mountains are set firm, 19 how the earth was outstretched? 20 Remind them, for thou art but a remembrancer, 21 Thou art not at all a warder over them. 22 However, as for him who turns away, being bent on denying the truth, 23 So Allah will mete out to him the greatest punishment. 24 Indeed, to Us is their return. 25 Then indeed only upon Us is their reckoning. 26
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
