In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
READ in the name of thy Sustainer, who has created 1 Created man from a clinging substance. 2 Recite thou: And thy Lord is the Most Bounteous, 3 Who taught by the pen, 4 taught man what he did not know. 5 Nay, but verily man is rebellious 6 because he thinks that he is independent. 7 Indeed, to your Lord is the return. 8 Have you seen the one who prohibits 9 A votary when he turns to his devotions? 10 What thinkest thou? If he were upon guidance 11 and enjoins piety? 12 Do you see how he has denied the truth and turned away from it? 13 Does he not know that Allah sees? 14 Nay, but if he cease not We will seize him by the forelock - 15 his lying sinful forelock. 16 Then let him summon his council, 17 We, will call the Zabania (the harsh angels of Hell). 18 By no means! Obey not thou him. Continue to adore, and continue to draw nigh. ۩ 19

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
