Surely the people of al-Hijr also rejected the Messengers, calling them liars. 80 We brought them signs, but they turned away. 81 They used to hew out houses from the mountains and lived in security. 82 and so the blast [of Our punishment] overtook them at early morn, 83 Then availed them not that which they had been earning. 84 AND [remember:] We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them without [an inner] truth; but, behold, the Hour [when this will become clear to all] is indeed yet to come. Hence, forgive [men's failings] with fair forbearance: 85 verily, thy Sustainer is the all-knowing Creator of all things! 86 We have given you the seven oft-recited verses and the great Quran. 87 Look not with your eyes ambitiously at what We have bestowed on certain classes of them (the disbelievers), nor grieve over them. And lower your wings for the believers (be courteous to the fellow-believers). 88 And say: "I am indeed he that warneth openly and without ambiguity,"- 89 So We sent it down to the partitioners, 90 Those who have made the scripture bits. 91 By your Lord, We will question them all 92 concerning that they were doing. 93 Therefore publicly announce what you are commanded, and turn away from the polytheists. 94 Verily We will suffice unto thee against the mockers. 95 Who place other gods besides God. They will come to know soon. 96 Indeed, We know your chest is straitened by that they say. 97 Glorify and praise your Lord and be with those who prostrate themselves before God. 98 and worship your Lord until what is certain [death] comes to you. 99
