The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Of what ask they? 1 They quarrel about the great news 2 Regarding which they hold different views. 3 Indeed, they shall know! 4 Nay, again, they will come to know! 5 Have We not spread the earth like a bed, 6 And the high hills bulwarks? 7 And (have We not) created you in pairs, 8 And We have made your sleep as a rest. 9 made the night as a covering, 10 and made the day [a symbol of] life. 11 And We have builded over you seven strong heavens. 12 And placed (therein) a Light of Splendour? 13 And We sent down rain from water-laden clouds pouring in torrents 14 In order to produce grain and plants with it. 15 And gardens of thick foliage. 16 Indeed the Day of Decision is a time fixed. 17 The Day when the Trumpet will be blown, and you shall come forth in crowds (groups); 18 and when the sky shall be opened up and will become all doors; 19 and when the mountains are made to vanish as if they had been a mirage. 20 Surely, Hell lies in wait, 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 They will dwell therein for ages. 23 Nothing cool shall they taste therein, nor any drink. 24 Except boiling water, and dirty wound discharges. 25 as a fitting recompense for their deeds. 26 Verily they were wont not to look for a reckoning. 27 And rejected Our signs as lies. 28 And We have kept recorded everything in a Book, accounted for. 29 So taste! for We will not add to you aught but chastisement. 30
