The people of Lut belied the sent ones. 160 When their brother Lut said unto them: fear ye not? 161 Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you, 162 So fear Allah and obey me. 163 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage is only with the Lord of the Worlds. 164 Why do you go for males unlike all other creatures 165 and leave your wives whom your Lord has created for you? No, but you are a transgressing nation' 166 Said they: "Indeed, If thou desist not, O Lot, thou wilt most certainly be expelled [from this township]!" 167 He said, "Indeed, I am, toward your deed, of those who detest [it]. 168 'My Lord, save me and my people from that they are doing' 169 Then We delivered him and all his family 170 Except one old woman, who stayed behind. 171 then We totally destroyed the rest, 172 and rained down upon them a rain [of destruction]: and dire is such rain upon all who let themselves be warned [to no avail]! 173 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not Muslims. 174 And lo! thy Lord, He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
