SAY [O Muhammad]: "I am only a warner; and there is no deity whatever save God, the One, who holds absolute sway over all that exists, 65 the Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them; the Almighty, the Forgiving' 66 Say, "This is momentous news, 67 From which you turn away. 68 (Tell them): “I had no knowledge of the High Council when they were disputing. 69 'Only this has been revealed to me: that I am to give warning plainly and publicly." 70 (Remember) When your Lord said to the angels, “I will create a human from clay.” – 71 When I have shaped him, and breathed My spirit in him, fall you down, bowing before him!' 72 The angels fell down prostrate, every one, 73 except iblis (satan, the father of the jinn), he became too proud, for he was one of the unbelievers. 74 (Allah) said: "O Iblis (Satan)! What prevents you from prostrating yourself to one whom I have created with Both My Hands. Are you too proud (to fall prostrate to Adam) or are you one of the high exalted?" 75 [Iblis (Satan)] said: "I am better than he, You created me from fire, and You created him from clay." 76 (God) said: "Then go hence, ostracised. 77 And surely My curse is on you to the day of judgment. 78 He said, "My Lord, then reprieve me until the Day they are resurrected." 79 [Allah] said, "So indeed, you are of those reprieved 80 till the Day of the known time' 81 He said: by Thy majesty, then, I shall surely seduce them, all. 82 excepting those Thy servants among them that are sincere.' 83 [Allah] said, "The truth [is My oath], and the truth I say - 84 I will fill up Hell with you together with those who follow you." 85 SAY [O Prophet]: "No reward whatever do I ask of you for this [message]; and I am not one of those who claim to be what they are not. 86 This is nothing else but a reminder to all the worlds, 87 And ye will come in time to know the truth thereof. 88
