Therefore, remind. By the Favor of Allah, you are neither a soothsayer, nor mad. 29 If they say, "He is but a poet; we are waiting for some misfortune to befall him," 30 Say: Wait, for surely I too with you am of those who wait. 31 Do their minds prompt them to say such things, or are they a people immersed in transgression?” 32 Or do they say, "He has invented it himself"? Indeed, they are not willing to believe. 33 So let them bring a single discourse like it, if they are truthful. 34 Were they created by nothing, or were they themselves the creators? 35 Or, did they create the heavens and the earth? No, their belief is not certain! 36 Or have they the treasures of your Lord with them? Or have they been set in absolute authority? 37 Or have they a ladder by which they could [ascend to ultimate truths and] listen [to what is beyond the reach of human perception]? Let, then, any of them who have listened [to it] produce a manifest proof [of his knowledge]! 38 Do the daughters belong to Him and the sons to you? 39 Or do you ask them for a reward, so that they are over-burdened by debt? 40 Or do they have knowledge of the Unknown which they write down? 41 Or do they intend a plan? But those who disbelieve - they are the object of a plan. 42 Have they, then, any deity other than God? Utterly remote is God, in His limitless glory, from anything to which men may ascribe a share in His divinity! 43 AND YET, if they [who refuse to see the truth] were to see part of the sky falling down, they would [only] say: "[It is but] a mass of clouds!" 44 So leave them alone until they face the day when they will be struck dead from terror 45 A day on which their scheming will not benefit them at all, nor will they be helped. 46 But, verily, for those who are bent on doing evil, there is suffering in store [even] closer at hand than that [supreme suffering in the hereafter]: but most of them are not aware of it. 47 And wait patiently for the judgment of your Lord, for surely you are before Our eyes, and sing the praise of your Lord when you rise; 48 And in a part of the night exalt Him and after [the setting of] the stars. 49
