And indeed, warnings came to the people of Fir'aun (Pharaoh) [through Musa (Moses) and Harun (Aaron)]. 41 They cried lies to Our signs, all of them, so We seized them with the seizing of One mighty, omnipotent. 42 ARE, THEN, those of you who [now] deny the truth better than those others - or have you, perchance, [been promised] immunity in the [ancient] books of [divine] wisdom? 43 Or do they say, "We are an assembly supporting [each other]"? 44 Their multitude will be put to flight, and they will show their backs. 45 Rather, the Hour is their encounter. And that Hour will be most calamitous and bitter. 46 Verily the culprits shall be in great error and madness. 47 The Day they will be dragged through the Fire on their faces, (they will hear:) "Taste ye the touch of Hell!" 48 We have indeed created all things by a proper measure. 49 And Our Command is but a single (Act),- like the twinkling of an eye. 50 And (oft) in the past, have We destroyed gangs like unto you: then is there any that will receive admonition? 51 All their deeds are recorded in the Scrolls; 52 And every small and great thing is recorded. 53 The pious ones will live in Paradise wherein streams flow, 54 in a secure abode, in the presence of the Powerful King. 55
