Nay! By the moon 32 By the receding night 33 And by the dawn when it brightens, 34 This is but one of the mighty (portents), 35 A warning to mankind, 36 Whoever of you desires to progress or lag behind. 37 Every soul will be in captivity for its deeds 38 except the Companions of the Right. 39 (They will be) in Gardens (of Delight): they will question each other, 40 concerning the sinners, 41 "what led you into hell?" 42 They shall say, 'We were not of those who prayed, and 43 And did not feed the needy, 44 And plunged into useless things with those who were obstinate, 45 "And we used to belie the Day of Recompense 46 Till death overtook us. 47 Then will no intercession of (any) intercessors profit them. 48 What aileth them, therefore, that they are from the admonition turning away? 49 as if they were startled asses 50 Fleeing from a hunter, or a lion, or a beast of prey. 51 Aye! every one of them desireth that: he should be vouchsafed scrolls expanded. 52 Never! In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay! it is surely an admonition. 54 So whosoever will (let him read it), and receive admonition (from it)! 55 But none will keep it in remembrance except as Allah wills: He is the Lord of Righteousness, and the Lord of Forgiveness. 56
