And convey unto them the story of Abraham 69 [how it was] when he asked his father and his people, "What is it that you worship?" 70 They said: "We worship idols, and to them we are ever devoted." 71 'Do they hear you when you call on them' He asked. 72 Or do they benefit you, or do you harm?" 73 They said: "Nay, but we found our fathers doing so." 74 Said [Abraham]: "Have you, then, ever considered what it is that you have been worshipping 75 "You and your ancient fathers? 76 are my enemies? Not so the Lord of the Universe. 77 who created me, and Himself guides me, 78 He Who feedeth me and giveth me to drink. 79 "And when I am ill, it is He Who cures me; 80 Who will cause me to die and then will again restore me to life; 81 And Who, I ardently hope, will forgive me my sin on the Day of Judgment. 82 My Lord, give me judgment, and join me with the righteous. 83 And give unto me a good report in later generations. 84 And place me among the inheritors of the Garden of Delight, 85 and forgive my father for he is among those who strayed, 86 Degrade me not upon the day when they are raised up, 87 “The day when neither wealth will benefit nor will sons.” 88 Save him who bringeth unto Allah a whole heart. 89 and Paradise shall be brought forward to the cautious. 90 and Hell shall be revealed to the misguided, 91 They will be asked: "Where are those you worshipped 92 beside Allah? Can they be of any help to you, or even be of any help to themselves?" 93 So they will be overturned into Hellfire, they and the deviators 94 And the hosts of Iblis, together. 95 They will say while contending therein, 96 By Allah! we were certainly in manifest error, 97 When we made you equal with the Lord of the Worlds. 98 And no one misguided us except the criminals. 99 We have no intercessors now, 100 Nor a close friend (to help us). 101 Were there for us a return, we would be of the believers. 102 There is certainly a sign in that, but most of them would not believe: 103 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Ever Compassionate. 104
