Not without purpose did We create heaven and earth and all between! that were the thought of Unbelievers! but woe to the Unbelievers because of the Fire (of Hell)! 27 Or should we treat those who believe and do righteous deeds like corrupters in the land? Or should We treat those who fear Allah like the wicked? 28 It is a blessed Book which We have revealed for you so that you will reflect upon its verses and so the people of understanding will take heed. 29 And to David We gave Solomon. An excellent servant, indeed he was one repeatedly turning back [to Allah]. 30 [Mention] when there were exhibited before him in the afternoon the poised [standing] racehorses. 31 he said, "I have put the love of good things above the remembrance of my Lord," until [the sun] disappeared behind its veil and the horses disappeared from sight, 32 "Bring them back to me!" -- [he said] and began to stroke their legs and their necks. 33 And certainly We tried Sulaiman, and We put on his throne a (mere) body, so he turned (to Allah). 34 He said, “My Lord! Forgive me and bestow upon me a kingdom, which shall not befit anyone after me; indeed only You are the Great Bestower.” 35 And so We made subservient to him the wind, so that it gently sped at his behest whithersoever he willed, 36 As also the evil ones, (including) every kind of builder and diver,- 37 And others bound in fetters. 38 (Saying): This is Our gift, so bestow thou, or withhold, without reckoning. 39 And verily for him is an approach with Us, and a happy end. 40
