Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER the sky full of great constellations, 1 By the promised Day (of Judgment); 2 And by the witnessing day (i.e. Friday), and by the witnessed day [i.e. the day of 'Arafat (Hajj) the ninth of Dhul-Hijjah]; 3 the people of the pit were destroyed 4 with fire abounding in fuel, 5 When they were sitting near it 6 And were themselves the witnesses of what they did to the believers. 7 They had naught against them save that they believed in Allah, the Mighty, the Owner of Praise, 8 Him, Whose is the dominion of heavens and the earth. And Allah is over everything a Witness. 9 Lo! they who persecute believing men and believing women and repent not, theirs verily will be the doom of hell, and theirs the doom of burning. 10 But those who believe and do good deeds shall be rewarded with gardens watered by flowing rivers. That is the supreme triumph. 11 The grip of your Lord is severe indeed! 12 Behold, it is He who creates [man] in the first instance, and He [it is who] will bring him forth anew. 13 And He is the Forgiving, the Affectionate, 14 – the Lord of the Glorious Throne, 15 and the Most Effective in His decision. 16 Has the story of the hordes 17 [Those of] Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 Yet those who deny the truth persist in denial. 19 And Allah encompasses them from behind! (i.e. all their deeds are within His Knowledge, and He will requite them for their deeds). 20 It is indeed a glorious Quran, 21 In the Preserved Tablet. 22
